JOB SUMMARY: The Business Development Coordinator’s main task will be to coordinate new business planning efforts throughout the organization. This includes duties such as submission of new business quotes, trial order management, on time shipment of trial and scale up orders, and related activities. The coordinator assists in the daily management of the department and provides support as necessary to manage new business, including and all corresponding record keeping, communications, and data entry. The coordinator maintains the highest quality and service standards and is responsible for other special projects and administrative support as needed by the New Business Program and R&D Department.
The list below is not exhaustive and may be supplemented as deemed necessary by the company. The coordinator is expected to perform other duties as assigned.
Business Development & Communication: Work closely with account leadership and other functions to identify new business opportunities. Identify opportunities for new products and services. Collaborate to transition accounts to customer service in a professional and seamless manner.
Business Strategy & Research: Support leadership to establish strategic business development plans. Support strategic account leadership constructing a full profile of customer’s overall corporate strategy, operating priorities, and major initiatives/timetables. Help to obtain and forward useful intelligence. Maintain detailed knowledge of Amgraph’s products and value-added services.
Production Quotations: Includes, but is not limited to: quoting, up-selling and offering new product lines. Capturing quote activity. Following up on quoted items with the sales, customer service, and customer as applicable. Coordinate with the program manager to provide necessary support for requests.
Order Administration: Perform order entries and order acknowledgements to customers. Monitor jobs for on time status. Manage shipments/follow-up and expediting actions internally and with vendors. Understand the customer’s relevant measurement programs. Monitor performance data and respond to supplied data, Maintain trial log and verify data collection on travelling trial documentation.
Department & Account Coordination: Coordinate and participate in New Business Program planning by participating in steering committees, operational and technical committees. Take minutes and schedule meetings. Cover office hours for other department members as needed. Provide effective communication to all department managers and directors. Provide general administrative support for the department.
R&D Lab Support:
Raw Material Qualification: Receive and catalog new materials samples. Test samples in lab. Distribute samples to appropriate department managers for testing. Provide results to R&D and Material Review Board.
Raw Material Pricing: Contact suppliers for raw material price confirmation on an as-needed basis and for periodic pricing updates.
Sampling: Assist with incoming samples’ structure analysis and field sample requests. Locate and collect samples. Cut and package samples. Ship or distribute samples as necessary.
Finished Materials: Test and document critical parameters of finished good material to confirm material is within specification.
Assist with other R&D related lab and organizational tasks as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Four to six years of relevant work experience. Knowledge of manufacturing industry. Experience in sales and/or customer service. Outstanding communication skills, both verbal and written. Proficiency in numeric reasoning and mathematical skills. Proficient knowledge in all MS office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, etc.) applications. Able to think and act strategically.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor’s Degree in related field of study. Knowledge of the printing and/or packaging industry. Strong customer service background and sales goal orientation. Detail-oriented with excellent presentation skills. Remains flexible and focused when working under pressure. Excellent project management and organizational skills. Proven ability to coordinate multiple departments across multiple sites.
