Job Description:

As the Gravure operator, you will be responsible for readying the gravure press operation, monitoring the process, and ensuring smooth operation in accordance with specific custom specifications and environmentally friendly practices.

Essential Functions:

  • Set up press for image engraving based on instructions for product
  • Monitor engraving process to ensure smooth operation with image, text, and color
  • Follow safety precautions
  • Resolve issues with gravure operation
  • Maintain safety standards and environmentally conscious practices
  • Follow national and international requirements and specifications to ensure quality of product
  • Following requisite training, perform assigned print service duties

Requirements:

  • 3 years’ experience minimum with gravure operation
  • Well versed in Color Management
  • Familiarity with Defect Detections systems
  • Background in water-based inks preferred
  • Quality of Pressman ship must be superior
  • Must meet machine and labor utilization standards
  • Must maintain class A standards on all current Gravure Department equipment
  • Must be mechanically inclined, alert and conscientious
  • Must be capable of exercising good judgement in solving operational problems
  • Must be able to direct activities of your crew
  • Heavy lifting required
