Make an Impact
In accordance with operational needs as determined by management, performs with the highest level of efficiency all the functions of a Flexo/Gravure Apprentice.
This position is trained on SQF principles and is required to follow them and report through the chain of command and the non-conformance program any issues of food safety that they may encounter or observe.
What You’ll Do
• Ensures all duties, responsibilities, housekeeping habits, fire prevention, and safety procedures are understood and followed
• Maintains acceptable quality of pressmanship
• Recognizes routine press problems and takes necessary steps to correct them
• Meets machine and labor utilization standards set for the position
• Performs changeovers on routine jobs with minimal assistance
• Assists in press operation and training activities as required
• Makes decisions on when to stop press for correction of defects and restarts efficiently
• Inspects roll samples for print quality including color standards, register, and other defects
• Utilizes measurement tools such as spectrophotometer, densitometer, glossmeter, and gauge
• Advises leadman or supervisor of operational problems and requests assistance when needed
• Communicates effectively with incoming shift personnel to ensure continuity of operations
• Coordinates work of production support personnel
• Assists supervisor in all matters as required
• Promotes principles of SMED within the department
Operations / Compliance
• Carries out all company safe operating, sanitation and housekeeping policies
• Strives to raise quality level of work, facilitate production, and minimize waste
• Maintains press, press areas, and accessory equipment in clean and good working order
• Solves routine mechanical press problems and makes adjustments as required
