– Commitment to the environment is a selling point with recruits like Melissa Myers

AMGRAPH Packaging’s New Business Program Manager is celebrated her first anniversary with the company recently, and she says that their commitment to green packaging is one of the main reasons she made the decision to join them. Melissa Myers previously worked with a printing company in Massachusetts, so moving to accept a new job was not something she took lightly.

“One of the first things that attracted me to AMGRAPH was their commitment to environmental ethics,” Melissa said. “I’m so happy to have found a group of people who are as committed to this cause as I am.”

“Everyone knows how tough it is to find the right people to fill jobs in manufacturing right now,” added Michael Higgins, Chief Operating Officer. “That’s why we work so hard to let people know who we are and what we stand for. Attracting and retaining employees like Melissa is key to our success.”

Melissa earned her B.S. in Environmental Studies at Hollins University, and she put that knowledge to work in the printing industry. One of the innovation’s she has spearheaded since joining AMGRAPH is the introduction of electronic job tickets that reduce processing time and streamline jobs, leaving less room for error. And, of course, it’s another green solution.

“The people at AMGRAPH are always willing to try new things to help the company grow in the right direction,” she said. “They enjoy their work and are excited to work together to make a green, sustainable product. They aren’t just doing it for a paycheck.”

Outside work, Melissa is an active member of the Unitarian Church, where she helps serve community meals and leads sermons of hope. She also volunteers at a recovery center where she teaches cooking classes. She lives in Massachusetts with her daughter.

“Melissa has grown to become an integral part of our team,” added Higgins. “Our goal is to continue to attract people who are committed to their communities and to the planet. They reflect our values at AMGRAPH, and they help us grow and serve our customers even better.”
